Viking VWH60481 Wall Hood Service
The VWH60481 is a retired 60-inch wall hood with a 24-inch depth. It was built for a very large range or a pair of cooking appliances, and it is a long span of stainless on a kitchen wall.
Length is our first concern. We check how evenly the filters are loaded and clean each one, then inspect the blower for balance, because a long canopy asks a lot of a single blower. The motor is run on every speed, the lamps are tested, and we cycle the control to see whether it responds consistently. The duct is traced for kinks, and the damper is watched while the fan starts.
A written price comes before any work, and a 30-day workmanship warranty covers the repair.
One blower draws air along the whole canopy, so any buildup reduces suction at the far ends. Cleaning the wheel restores much of it. A badly loaded wheel can halve the useful pull at the ends of the canopy.
That points to uneven suction. We check the filters nearest that end, then the blower and the duct path. Cleaning the end filters is quick, and it tells us whether the blower itself is the cause.
We carry common bulbs, and we match the type by looking at the socket. If you have a spare bulb, set it aside for us to compare.
