Viking VWH3610 Hood Repair
The VWH3610 is an older-generation wall hood, 36 inches wide and 10 inches high, with an interior power blower, multi-speed control and baffle grease filters. Its shallow height keeps it compact over a range.
With a 10-inch body, there is little room around the blower, so grease on the wheel and filters has a bigger effect than on a taller hood. We clean both and look for a blower wheel that has gone out of balance. Inconsistent speeds point to the speed switch or the motor’s windings. Overheat protection that trips suggests a restricted duct, so we check the damper and cap.
Lamp sockets in a compact hood sit close to the heat; scorched ones are replaced. Parts for this older model are confirmed first. You get a written price before work, and our repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Less space means grease reaches the blower wheel and filters more directly. Regular cleaning every month or two keeps it moving air. Small hoods need cleaning more often than large ones.
It vibrates, makes noise and wears the bearings. We clean the wheel and replace it if it is bent or cracked. Small imbalances grow quickly at high speed.
Heat from the bulb and poor contact. We replace the socket and check for a bulb of the right wattage. Using a higher-wattage bulb makes the problem worse.
