Viking VRT5304B Gas Rangetop Repair
The VRT5304B is a discontinued 5 Series gas rangetop, 30 inches wide, with the TruPower Plus 18,500 BTU burner, a porcelainized cooking surface, VariSimmer control and SureSpark ignition. We find it in kitchens where a cabinet base holds drawers or a separate oven. The porcelainized surface wipes clean, but it does not stop liquid from reaching the electrode through the cap.
Years after installation, the SureSpark system is the first to need attention: electrodes coated in film, a module that has aged, or a connector that has loosened. The powerful burner’s ports gather residue, and the simmer flame loses steadiness.
We clean, test the sparks and read every flame. A gas odor means leaving the house and calling the gas utility. Our written price comes first, and a 30-day warranty covers repairs.
It is the ignition system that sparks the burners. When a burner clicks without lighting, we clean and dry the electrode, then test the module.
It moves more gas and runs hotter, so its ports clog and its electrode wears faster. We clean and test it first. Its electrode is also the one most exposed to boil-overs.
Burner and ignition parts are common to several 5 Series tops. We confirm by model number before quoting. We tell you before ordering if a part must be special-ordered and how long it may take.
