Viking VRT53044B 30-Inch Gas Rangetop
The VRT53044B is a current 5 Series gas rangetop, 30 inches wide, with a TruPower Plus 18,500 BTU burner, a porcelainized cooking surface and the VariSimmer setting. It fits a counter cutout, usually above a wall oven.
Because it is current, most of the units we see are under ten years old, and the problems are about cleaning and cap placement, not worn parts. After a boil-over, liquid under a cap leaves the electrode damp and the burner clicks. The powerful burner also needs clear ports to deliver its heat.

Liquid on the electrode prevents the spark from detecting a flame. Drying and cleaning the electrode normally stops it. A few hours with the cap off usually lets the area dry completely.

It is durable, but sugar spills left to harden can chip it. Wipe spills early and avoid abrasive pads. Warm soapy water and a soft cloth handle ordinary spatter.
