Viking VQGSB5131 Side Burner Service
The VQGSB5131 is a 13-inch built-in module with two side burners, made to sit beside a main grill head in an outdoor kitchen. It is where the sauce pot and the skillet go while the grill is busy, and spills are the main hazard. Boil-overs run straight into the burner and clog its ports.
Each burner has its own control, so we test them one at a time. A burner that lights but dies on low usually has a dirty port or a weak flame sensor; one that will not light at all points to the igniter or the valve. We lift the grates and caps, clean the ports, and check the gas connection beneath the module.
If you ever smell gas, close the supply, leave the area and call the gas utility from outside. We provide a written price before work and a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A spill has probably clogged the ports or the burner cap is seated off center. We clean the ports, reseat the cap and check the valve's low setting.
Yes, each has its own control, so a failure usually affects one burner only. If both fail, we look at the shared gas supply to the module.
Water in the igniter or valve area causes clicking without lighting. Cover the module when idle, and call us if you see rust or hear repeated clicking.
