Viking VQGFS5540 54-Inch Freestanding Grill
The VQGFS5540 is a retired 54-inch freestanding gas grill from the 5 Series, fitted with a ProSear burner and a rotisserie. Its sheer size makes the cart a point of attention as well as the burners.
A long cart carries a lot of metal and a gas tank, and its frame can sag or its wheels bind over time. We level the grill and free the casters first, then move to gas. With a grill this wide, weak burners at the ends point to supply or ports, so we measure pressure at full load.
The ProSear burner is cleaned and tested on its own. The rotisserie motor is run under weight, because a long spit with a roast asks more of it. A gas odor means closing the tank valve and calling the utility from outside. We confirm retired parts, quote in writing and warrant the repair for 30 days.
Pressure may drop along the manifold, or the ports on those burners may be clogged. We clean the ports and measure pressure at several points.
Yes. A cart that sags tilts the grill and can strain the gas hose. We check the frame, level the unit and examine the hose for kinks.
It can, but only with a balanced load and a motor in good health. We test it with weight and replace it if it slows.
