Viking VIRT301 30-Inch Induction Rangetop
The VIRT301 is a retired Professional Series rangetop, 30 inches wide, that cooks entirely by induction. A high-powered magnetic field heats the pan itself, and a wear-resistant glass ceramic surface keeps cleanup short. It sits in a counter cutout and needs a dedicated electric supply, with no gas involved.
What fails on an induction top is rarely the surface. A cooling fan that clogs with dust, a power module that overheats, or a sensor that stops recognizing the pan are the usual causes. Because the electronics work hard, airflow beneath the cutout matters as much as the glass above.
We test with magnetic cookware, check the fan and look at the module. You see a written price before repairs, and we give a 30-day workmanship warranty.
The zone protects itself from overheating, and a clogged fan or a hot module can trigger it. We clean the airflow path and test the module under load.
Magnetic pans, such as cast iron and many stainless steels. If a magnet sticks to the base, the pan should work. Pans with thick aluminum cores and a magnetic steel base also work.
Light surface marks are cosmetic, but a crack must be replaced right away, since liquid can reach the electronics. Stop using the zone immediately if you see a crack and call us.
