Viking VIPR102R 30-Inch Remote Downdraft
The VIPR102R is a retired 30-inch rear downdraft with remote-mounted controls. It sits behind a 30-inch cooktop and pulls steam downward, with the controls placed in a cabinet face or panel instead of on the unit.
Remote controls give us two places to look. We begin at the control panel, testing the switch and its wiring, then move to the unit and pull the filters. Below the counter, we inspect the blower and listen for rubbing or a loose wheel. The duct leaving the cabinet is followed for kinks. Because the unit is in a countertop installation, we cover surfaces and avoid disturbing the cooktop.
A written price comes before any work, and the repair has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
They are remote-mounted, usually in a cabinet face or nearby panel. If they stop working, we check the wiring between the panel and the unit. The panel and unit are usually joined by a short run of low-voltage wiring.
The capture path is short and low, so greasy filters or a tired blower show up quickly. We clean and test both. Both checks are quick, and cleaning alone often restores a good deal of pull.
No, we do not touch the gas line. We service the ventilation and keep the cooktop off and cool. The gas supply and the burners are not part of what we repair here.
