Viking VICU105 30-Inch Induction Cooktop
Viking built the VICU105 as a 30-inch all-induction cooktop in the Professional series, around MagneQuick induction power generators, and it is now retired. It was designed to bring commercial-style induction control to a home kitchen.
The generators are the part of an induction cooktop that work hardest, and they live in a space with limited airflow. If a zone quits during a long boil, we suspect heat first and check the cabinet clearance, the cooling fan and the vents. Touch-panel complaints usually come from moisture or a greasy film, so we clean and dry the glass before deeper testing. After that we test every zone with a pan that definitely sticks to a magnet and read how each generator responds.
Repairs are priced in writing before any part is ordered. A visible model tag helps us bring the right parts.
They are the electronics that create the magnetic field under each zone. When a zone fails to heat or cuts out, we test that generator and its connections after ruling out airflow and cookware.
Thin or partly magnetic bases heat poorly on induction. Try a heavy pan with a fully magnetic base. If good cookware still heats slowly, we test the zone coil and generator.
The glass is tough but dislikes impact and sugary spills. Lift pans instead of sliding them and wipe spills while the surface is warm, not hot. Cracks need prompt attention.
