Viking VGRT7488B 48-Inch Gas Rangetop
The VGRT7488B is a 48-inch gas rangetop from the 7 Series with eight sealed Elevation burners, which makes it one of the larger surfaces we are asked to service. It sits in a counter cutout, normally over a pair of wall ovens or a bank of drawers, with a big hood overhead.
With eight burners in play, one that misbehaves is easy to spot and just as easy to chase down. Usually the cause is a cap that has shifted after cleaning, or residue that crept under it and dampened the electrode. Brass ports on three burner sizes hold up well, but they still clog.
On a visit we test every burner at high and at its lowest flame, then dry and clean what needs it. Should you smell gas, get out of the house and call the gas utility before you call anyone else. We state the price in writing before work begins and cover the repair for 30 days.
The ignition module serves all burners, so a single silent one points to that burner's own electrode, wire or cap seating. We dry and clean the electrode first, then check the wire for damage.
No. The LED lighting is a separate cosmetic circuit. A dark light does not change gas flow or ignition, so you can keep cooking while we arrange a replacement for the light.
Let them cool, lift the caps, and wash them in warm soapy water with a soft brush on the ports. Dry them fully before replacing them, because trapped water is a common reason for clicking.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
