Viking VGRT5304B Rangetop Help
The VGRT5304B is a 30-inch gas rangetop with four sealed VSH Pro burners, stainless steel knobs and automatic re-ignition. It is installed in a counter cutout and is often paired with a separate wall oven or a compact range below.
Because it has only four burners, each one works hard, and the calls we get are usually about igniters and clogged ports. A boil-over that slips under a cap reaches the electrode first, then the sensor that handles re-ignition.
We start with the caps and ports, then test the spark and the flame on every burner. A smell of gas means leaving the house and calling the gas utility from outside. The price is in writing before we begin, and a 30-day warranty covers the work.
It senses a burner flame that has gone out and sparks it again. If it fails, we check the igniter and the sensing path, which a spill can foul, and replace only the part that tests bad.
Let them cool, lift off the caps, wipe them with warm soapy water and dry them completely. Never spray liquid into the ports, since moisture on the electrode is the usual cause of clicking.
Check that the cap is seated and the ports are clean. If it still flickers, we test the valve at its lowest setting and look at the flame along the whole burner ring.
