Viking VGRT300 Open Burner Rangetop
Open burners give the VGRT300 its commercial look. It is a retired Professional Series 30-inch gas rangetop with stainless steel open burners and the VariSimmer setting, installed in a counter cutout above a wall oven or a drawer base.
Open burners are easy to clean in principle, and that is exactly why they get wiped aggressively. A cap that is knocked off-center, a port filled by a scouring pad, or an electrode that has been soaked are the usual reasons for trouble. After years, valves also lose their feel at the low end.
We pull each burner apart, clean, reassemble and test. A gas odor means everyone out and a call to the gas utility from outside. We give the price in writing first, and the repair has a 30-day warranty.
Grease or debris in the ports is restricting the air-gas mix. We clean the ports and reseat the cap, and the flame should turn blue again.
Yes, once cool, but dry everything fully and let it air out. Water left in the burner base or on the electrode is the usual reason for clicking after cleaning.
A blocked low-flame port or a valve worn at its lowest setting. We clean first, and replace the valve only when the clean burner still cannot hold the flame.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
