Viking VGBQ53002RE 500 Series Grill
The VGBQ53002RE is a retired 30-inch gas grill in the 500 Series, with 29,000 BTU stainless steel burners and a heavy-duty rotisserie. It could be built into a custom enclosure, into stainless cabinetry, or placed on a portable cart.
This size of grill sees a lot of backyard traffic, and the usual wear is predictable: igniters that stop sparking, ports that clog, a rotisserie motor that tires. We test the spark first, then pull the grates and inspect the burners. Cleaning the venturi tubes often cures a lazy, yellow flame. The motor is tested under a realistic load and its plug and cord are checked for moisture damage.
We also look at the firebox, where humid air eats at the metal beneath the burners. Retired models require a parts check, so we confirm availability and give a written price. Warranty on our work is 30 days.
Usually a worn motor, a corroded plug or a spit bearing that has seized. We test the three in order and replace the failed part.
Cover the grill when cool and use burner screens if available. We clean the venturi tubes and can check for obstructions during the visit. A quick brush before each season also helps.
A small puff can occur on lighting, but a lingering smell means a leak. Turn off the supply and call the gas utility, then call us for repairs.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
