Viking VERT536 36-Inch Electric Rangetop
The VERT536 is the 36-inch version of the Professional Series custom electric rangetop, retired now, with stainless steel knobs that feel substantial and QuickCook elements that reach full power in nearly three seconds. It sits flush in a counter cutout, often next to a wall oven. Its cutout is wider than the 30-inch version, so the cabinet below usually holds drawers or a pull-out.
Because the surface is wide, the elements and switches are spread over more space, and the heat that builds beneath the panel is greater than on a 30-inch top. We often find switch contacts pitted from years of switching high current, and terminals darkened by repeated heating.
The visit includes metering every element, checking the switches and inspecting the wiring. A written price comes first, and the repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Grease or a worn switch shaft is typical. We take the knob off, inspect the shaft and either clean it or replace the switch behind it.
Each element has its own switch, so a failure normally stays with that zone. If several zones misbehave together, we look for a shared power or wiring problem.
With careful use they can last many years, though repeated spills and dragging pans shorten their life. We test before replacing, so you pay only for an element that actually failed.
