Viking VERT301 Electric Rangetop Service
The VERT301 is a retired 30-inch professional electric rangetop whose QuickCook elements reach full power in about three seconds. A bridge element lets the front and rear zones act as one long surface, handy for a griddle pan or a roasting dish. The knobs sit on the front edge, which keeps them away from the heat of the elements.
Because every function depends on current, service starts with the supply and the connections. The terminal block is the place heat concentrates, and an infinite switch that has worn will cause an element to heat unevenly or stay on high. Cleaning and testing often fix what looks like a dead element.
We meter each element and switch, then examine the terminals for scorching. A written price comes first, and a 30-day workmanship warranty follows the repair.
It joins the front and rear elements into one continuous heating zone, which suits oblong pans and griddles. If it fails, we test its link and the switch that controls it.
A switch that has failed closed can send full power regardless of the knob. Turn it off at the breaker and let us replace the switch before using that element again.
Yes. Scorching means resistance and heat at the connection. We replace the damaged terminal and wire end, since a poor joint will fail again. Please leave that element switched off until we have inspected it.
