Viking VCWH53048 5 Series Hood
The VCWH53048 is a current 30-inch 5 Series chimney wall hood, 18 inches high. It has heat lamps, dimmable lighting controls with long-life LED bulbs the owner can replace, and a heat sensor that automatically increases ventilator power when temperatures rise. The heat lamp bulbs are purchased locally.
The first thing we test is the heat sensor: does the fan speed up when the range warms the hood? Then we check the dimmer and the LED lighting, and the heat lamps. After that come the filters, the blower and motor, and the damper. This hood is compact, so a modest amount of grease on the wheel can reduce airflow noticeably.

It is the height of the chimney body. The shorter body fits under lower ceilings or soffits, and service access is from below. It also means service is done from below, without disturbing the cabinets or the ceiling.
