Viking VCWH4848 Wall Hood Service
The VCWH4848 is a retired 48-inch chimney wall hood, made to sit over a 48-inch range. It is a substantial stainless canopy, and in many kitchens it is the largest piece on the wall.
The first repair step is often to restore the airflow it had when new. We clean every filter and the underside of the canopy, then inspect the blower wheel and the motor mounts. We check the damper and listen for a motor that is slow to start. Lights and controls are tested after that, and any worn socket is repaired. We also look at the chimney attachments, because a heavy hood can loosen its fasteners over time.
We give a written price first. Our repairs come with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Filters monthly if you cook heavily, every few months for light use. The canopy underside should be wiped each time you wash the filters. A hood this size holds a lot of grease, so a regular schedule saves a larger repair.
It might be, or the wheel may be binding on grease. We clean first and test the motor again, so you replace only what has failed.
We check the fasteners as part of the visit and tighten any that have loosened, which also quiets rattles. A hood with a loose chimney can hum or whistle, and tightening costs very little.
