Viking VCWH3648 Chimney Hood Service
The VCWH3648 is a retired 36-inch chimney wall hood, probably the most common width in this family. It fits above a 36-inch range and carries its duct through the chimney to the ceiling or wall.
Hoods of this width tend to age gracefully until grease builds up in the filters and on the wheel. During a visit we remove the filters, clean them and examine their frames for bends. Then we open the housing to look at the blower and motor, test the lamps and run the switch through every speed. We also check the chimney sections for loose fasteners, which can make a hood buzz at certain speeds.
The written price comes first, and the repair is covered by a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A loose chimney section or a wheel slightly out of balance can resonate at a single speed. We tighten the fasteners and clean the wheel, then test every speed.
If you can find the right size, yes. They slide or latch in place. We can confirm the size and fit them if you prefer. Order by the width and model number of your hood so the filters seat flat.
Warm grease on filters or the blower gives that smell. A cleaning removes the source, and we can do it as part of the visit. Running the fan for a few minutes after cooking also slows grease from building up again.
