Viking VBCV60381 60-Inch Hood Ventilator
The VBCV60381 is a retired 60-inch built-in custom ventilator for a wall hood. At this width it spans an unusually long cooking area, and it is typically concealed within a custom hood that the builder designed to run most of the length of the wall.
The first thing we do is look at how air moves along that length. We pull the filters and see which of them carry the most grease, then check the blower and motor for strain. The switch and lights are tested next. We follow the duct to the outside to confirm it is not crushed and that the damper opens. Retired inserts can be hard to replace, so we focus on repair and tell you honestly what is practical.
A written price comes before any work, with a 30-day workmanship warranty on our repair.
Usually, because replacing the insert may mean altering the custom hood. We diagnose first and give you a written price so you can decide. Replacement can mean opening the shell, which costs far more than most repairs.
The blower sits in a fixed spot, and dirty filters at the ends reduce capture there first. Cleaning the filters evenly restores balance. The blower sits in one place, so the farthest filters are the first to fall short.
We tell you before you approve any work, and we look for a practical alternative, such as repairing the original part. For retired inserts we may suggest repairing a worn part instead of replacing the whole assembly.
