Viking VBCV48381 48-Inch Custom Ventilator
The VBCV48381 is a built-in custom ventilator, 48 inches wide, made for a wall hood. It sits inside a custom shell above a 48-inch range, so the ventilator carries a heavy share of the cooking steam in a kitchen built for serious cooking.
With a wide insert, the filters get most of our attention at the start. We remove each one, check its frame and clean it, then examine the blower wheel for balance and the motor for strain. Lights and controls follow. The damper and the duct are the last check, since a wide range pushes a lot of air toward the outside and any restriction shows quickly.
We give you a written price before work starts. Our repairs include a 30-day workmanship warranty.
More burners mean more steam and grease, and the filters fill faster. Cleaning them more often keeps the blower from straining. Heavy searing and frying shorten the time between filter washes, so wash them sooner then.
Use a lower speed until we look at it. A strained sound usually means restricted air from dirty filters or a stuck damper, and it is easy to correct.
We can tighten the ventilator's own mounts and the wheel. If the custom shell is loose, your builder should address that part. A loose shell that vibrates should be refastened by the person who built it.
