Viking RDIPR151R D3 Downdraft Service
The RDIPR151R is a 45-inch rear downdraft in the Viking D3 line. As with its 30-inch sibling, the controls are mounted remotely, and the unit sits behind the cooktop, pulling fumes and steam downward and out through the cabinet.
At 45 inches it covers a wider cooking surface, so poor extraction at the corners is something owners notice first. We clean the filters, test the remote controls and wiring, and then examine the blower beneath the counter. The ductwork is checked for kinks or a stuck damper, since downdrafts depend on a short, clear path. Before leaving, we run the blower on every speed and watch the slot for even draw.
Our price is written before work begins, and repairs carry a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A wide downdraft depends on a clean blower and filters across its entire length. Grease at either end reduces capture there first. The far corners are where the loss of draw shows first.
It connects to the unit and draws power through it. We test the supply and the connection before suspecting the switch. The remote panel is wired to the unit and checked in the same way.
Most visits are one to two hours. If we need to order a part, we explain this before we leave. Typical repairs finish within the same visit, unless a part has to be ordered, in which case we say so up front.
