Viking DIPR101R Downdraft Repair
The DIPR101R is a 30-inch rear downdraft from the Designer Series, with controls mounted remotely instead of on the unit. A downdraft sits behind the cooktop and pulls fumes down and away, which makes it a choice for islands and peninsulas where an overhead hood would block the view.
Because the controls are mounted elsewhere, a call often involves two places: the unit behind the cooktop and the panel at the cabinet. We test the remote controls and wiring, then pull the filters and check the blower, which lives below the counter. We also look for anything trapped in the rise path. The slot is wiped clean before we close it up so nothing is left to drip into the unit.
We quote in writing first, and the repair has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Loose wiring between the remote panel and the unit is a frequent cause. We check the connections and the switch before we look at the blower.
Filters first, then the blower and ducting under the cabinet. A rear downdraft has a short capture path, so even a thin grease film hurts.
Not usually. We reach most parts from above and from the cabinet below, which keeps your countertop undisturbed. Once the cause is traced, our price is written down for you to approve before any parts are replaced or the unit is closed up again.
