Viking DICV54321 Island Ventilator Repair
At 54 inches, the DICV54321 is the widest size of the Designer Series built-in ventilator for island hoods. It sits in a custom enclosure above a long island, so removing it is not something we do lightly.
Instead we service it where it hangs. That means pulling the filters, inspecting the underside for grease, and checking the blower wheel and motor from below. We then test each speed, look at the duct for restrictions, and test the lights. A long run of ducting can hide a damper that has stopped moving, so we watch it during the test. A final run at every speed shows whether the long span now draws evenly from end to end.
The written price comes before any work, and a 30-day workmanship warranty covers our repair.
Not by size alone. Performance depends on the blower and the duct, so a clean filter and a free damper matter more than the width.
We test the bulbs and sockets, then the wiring and switch. Often it is a socket worn by heat, and it can be repaired without touching the blower.
It works, but grease then reaches the blower and ducting. We recommend running it only with filters in place, and we can replace damaged ones.
