Viking DICV42321 Island Ventilator Service
The DICV42321 is the 42-inch size of Viking’s Designer Series ventilator insert for island hoods. It is installed inside a hood built to suit the room, so what you see is the custom design and what we service is the ventilator hidden above it.
Because of that, the first job is to work out how to reach it. We open the bottom of the enclosure, pull the filters and inspect them for grease, then check the blower wheel and motor. We run each speed and test the lights, and we look at the duct above for kinks or a stuck damper. We note any signs of heat inside the enclosure, since a tight shell can shorten lamp and wiring life.
The price is written before any work, and the repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
We work from the opening designed for the filters and lights, protect surfaces with covers, and stop to ask you if anything requires more access.
The filters, the wheel or the duct are usually restricted. We check them in that order, then look at the damper above the ventilator. Duct damper movement is the next check after that, if the first two are clean.
That depends on the model and the enclosure. Because this one is retired, we look first at repair, and tell you plainly if a part is not obtainable.
