Viking DIPR151R Downdraft Service
The DIPR151R is a 45-inch Designer Series rear downdraft, the widest of the DIPR family, with controls mounted away from the unit. Wide cooktops give a downdraft more to cover, so even a small drop in suction is easy to notice at the far burners.
On a service call we begin with the remote controls, since a failed switch looks just like a dead blower. Then we pull the filters, check the blower below the counter and follow the duct for kinks. If the vent rises and lowers, we make sure nothing blocks its travel. Before we leave, we raise and lower the vent a few times to confirm the travel is smooth.
