Viking DCWL3944 Ledge Hood Service
At 39 inches wide, the DCWL3944 is a Designer Series chimney wall hood with a ledge, a good fit above a 36-inch range where the owner wanted overhang on both sides. Its canopy gives steam a larger area to collect in before the blower pulls it out.
For service, we start by cleaning and refitting the filters and wiping the ledge area, because grease there can hide a loose panel. Then we inspect the blower wheel for balance, check the motor on each speed, and test the lamps and sockets. We also check that the chimney seams sit tight and that no panel buzzes when the fan runs.
