Viking BVWH83678 36-Inch Brigade Hood
The BVWH83678 is a retired 36-inch Brigade wall hood, built in a commercial style, with high-powered ventilators, a heavy-duty filter system, halogen lighting and heat lamps to keep food warm. The seamless stainless steel design is meant to complement the Brigade kitchen.
A hood this powerful works hard. The ventilators pull a great deal of air and the filter system holds a lot of grease, so a filter that has not been cleaned makes the motors strain. Halogen lamps and heat lamps run hot; they burn out sooner than LED, and their sockets can scorch. We replace the sockets that show heat damage and check that the heat lamps reach full output.
The duct run is checked for restriction. Retired parts are confirmed before quoting. You get a written price first and a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Halogen bulbs run hot and wear out sooner than LEDs. A scorched socket or the wrong wattage makes it worse, so we check both. Switching to the correct bulb type also helps.
They keep plated food warm while you finish other dishes. If one stays dark, the lamp, socket or switch has failed, and we test them in that order.
Monthly with heavy cooking. Dirty filters make the ventilators strain and add to grease buildup in the duct. Wash them in warm soapy water or run them through the dishwasher.
