Viking VECU106 30-Inch Electric Cooktop
The VECU106 is a retired 30-inch electric radiant cooktop. It uses QuickCook surface elements and high infrared transmission for quick heating, with a glass ceramic top that cleans easily.
Quick heat means elements cycle hard, which is why they wear. Owners usually report one burner slowing down or a switch that no longer matches the setting. We confirm power at the terminal block, meter the element, and test the switch. If the glass has cracks, we recommend stopping use until it is replaced. We quote the work in writing beforehand.
Because the information on this model is brief, we confirm the details from the tag on your unit instead of guessing. Before leaving we test every zone, confirm that each indicator light goes off when the glass cools, and show you what we found. Repairs carry a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A weakening element, loose connector, or worn switch. We measure the element and the voltage reaching it. Then we replace only the part that fails.
Flat, smooth-bottomed pans give the best contact with the glass and protect the surface. Avoid dragging rough cast iron across the top, and lift pans rather than sliding them to prevent scratches.
A crack that crosses a burner area or is deep. Do not cook on it, shut off the breaker, and call us to quote a replacement.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
