Viking MVIC63014B 30-Inch Induction
The MVIC63014B is a 30-inch induction cooktop in the RVL series with digital touch control, MagneQuick elements, two timers and a Power Management System. It is a current model, found in new builds and remodels over drawers or wall ovens.
Induction cooktops combine electronics and heat in a tight space, so the cabinet below matters. Our first stop is airflow and clearance, followed by the touch panel and a test with a magnetic pan on each zone. The Power Management System shares power across zones, so we test with more than one zone on at the same time. If a part is needed, you hear the price first.
We also verify the two timer functions after any repair, so they count down and shut the zone off as they should.
The Power Management System divides available power among zones, so heat may drop when many are on high. That is by design. If a single zone cuts out alone, we should test it.
Pans with a magnetic base, such as cast iron or magnetic stainless steel. If a pan is not detected, try a magnet on the bottom first. If a magnetic pan fails, call us.
Moisture or a film of grease on the glass can interrupt touch sensing. Clean and dry it, then try again. A persistent problem points to the control board.
