Viking VIRT53044B Induction Rangetop
The VIRT53044B is a current 5 Series induction rangetop, 30 inches wide, with MagneQuick induction elements and the Power Management Induction System, which shares the available power among the zones. It is an all-electric appliance fed by a dedicated circuit. It draws on a dedicated circuit and a cooling fan beneath the glass, so airflow below the cutout matters.
Because power is shared, owners sometimes read the system’s behavior as a problem: a zone drops to a lower setting when others are busy. That is normal operation. When an element truly fails, or a fan grows loud, we find it by testing each zone alone.
We test with known cookware, check the fan and read the module under load. The price comes in writing first, and repairs have a 30-day warranty.
The Power Management system divides the available power across active zones, so a busy neighbor can lower another zone. That is by design, not a failure.
It means induction heating, so the pan must be magnetic. Aluminum and copper without a magnetic base will not heat. Test an unknown pot with a refrigerator magnet; if it clings firmly, it is a good candidate.
It may be detecting an empty pan, overheating or a spill on the controls. Clear the surface and let it cool, and if it persists, we test the sensors.
