Viking DGRT362 Designer Gas Rangetop
The DGRT362 is a retired Designer rangetop, 36 inches wide, with sealed burners, brass flame ports and a 16,000 BTU burner. Like its siblings, it sits in a counter cutout, and a service technician has to reach it from above and from the cabinet beneath.
Cabinets beneath a rangetop often hold pots and pans that bump the gas line or its shutoff, so we check those connections for leaks and for strain whenever we visit. On top, wear shows in the usual places: electrodes, ports and caps.
We test the sparks, clean the ports and look at each flame. If you notice a gas odor, go outside and call the gas utility. We give a written price first and a 30-day workmanship warranty after.
The gas line and the ignition wiring run beneath the rangetop. Checking them for strain or leaks keeps a small repair from becoming a bigger one.
Probably. That burner works hardest, so its electrode and module take the most wear. We test the spark strength and clean the port before replacing anything.
Clean them gently after boil-overs and avoid forcing metal tools into them. Brass is durable, but widened ports change the flame for good. If a port looks deformed rather than dirty, tell us, because that burner head may need replacing.
