Viking DGRT302 Sealed Burner Rangetop
Another of the retired Designer rangetops, the DGRT302 is a 30-inch sealed burner model with brass flame ports and a 16,000 BTU burner. Its counter cutout is what most owners notice, since it was designed to sit apart from the oven rather than on top of one.
Over time, we see the familiar pattern: caps that have shifted, electrodes with a film, and ports where grease has baked on. The 16,000 BTU burner gets the most use and wears the fastest, and a late light on that burner is usually the first sign of a tiring igniter.
We pull the caps, clean, test the spark and read the flame on each burner. A gas smell means leaving the house and phoning the gas utility. You get a written price before any repair, and our warranty is 30 days.
A weak igniter or a partly blocked port are the usual causes. We measure the spark, clean the port and test again before suggesting any new part.
It means the gas and air mix is off, which wastes fuel and leaves soot on pots. Cleaning the port normally fixes it, and if it does not, we check the air supply to the burner.
They share the same Designer styling and burner design. The model numbers tell us which parts to order, so we always confirm the number before ordering anything.
