LED code 2 on Viking Professional VICU206 and hybrid VCCU106 induction cooktops points to the knob switch, meaning either its wiring or the way the switch operates. The same table is used on the VICU266, VCCU166 and the VISC530 induction range. The control is receiving a knob signal it cannot read correctly, so you may find a zone ignoring the knob or the cooktop showing the number 2.
1. Turn every knob to off and wipe around the knob bases with a slightly damp cloth, since sticky spills can hold a knob in place. 2. Shut the cooktop's breaker off for about a minute and restore it. 3. Turn one knob and watch whether the 2 returns. 4. If it does, stop using the cooktop and call us. Leave the knobs and glass top in place.
It points to the knob switch circuit: the switch itself or the wiring that carries its signal to the control. Both are checked on the cooktop before a part is recommended.
If the other zones respond normally you can, but a switch problem can behave unpredictably. We would rather you stop using the cooktop until it is checked, especially if a zone will not turn off.
Occasionally, when spilled food is jamming a knob. If the code comes back after cleaning and a power reset, the switch or its wiring needs repair.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
