Viking VQGSB5130 Double Side Burner
The VQGSB5130 is a retired 13-inch module with two gas side burners in the 5 Series. It is meant to sit in the same outdoor kitchen as a main grill, and it is what you reach for when the grill is occupied and a sauce needs a gentle simmer.
Simmering is the hard part for a burner. Small flames are easily disturbed by blocked ports and warped caps, so low-setting complaints are the most common. We lift the caps and grates, clean every port and make sure each cap seats flat. If one side stays dark, we check its electrode, wiring and valve separately from the other burner.
The gas connection under the module is checked as well. If you notice a gas smell, close the supply and call the utility from outside. The model is retired, so we confirm part availability before we quote. You get the written price first and a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Spilled food or a crooked burner cap disturbs the small flame. We clean the ports, reseat or replace the cap and test the valve's low setting until the flame holds steadily.
Each burner has its own electrode, valve and ports, so a problem on one side leaves it dark while the other works. We test them separately and replace only what has failed.
Any gas appliance in an enclosure does. We check that the island has open vents, that the shutoff is reachable and that nothing around the module has been heat-damaged.
