Viking VGSB5152 Double Side Burner
The VGSB5152 is a retired 15-inch double side burner, designed to sit beside a grill or stand alone in an outdoor kitchen, and it lights with the push of a button. It gives you two extra gas burners for stock pots and sauce pans while the main grill is busy.
Because it sits at counter height, it catches spills and splashes. The first thing we do is remove the grates and caps and clean the ports. If a burner will not light, we check the electrode, the ignition switch and the wiring, then the valve and orifice for that burner. One dead burner in a pair usually means a problem on that side only.
We also check the gas connection under the module and any ventilation in the enclosure. For any gas smell, close the supply and call the utility from outside. Parts for a retired model are confirmed before quoting; our price is written and the repair has a 30-day warranty.
Each burner has its own port set and valve, so a spill or a worn electrode on one side leaves it dark. We clean the ports and test the electrode and valve for that burner.
The switch may have corroded or the wiring may be loose. We test continuity from the button to the spark module, replace the failed part and make sure the new connection is sealed from moisture.
It depends on how it was set up. We verify the orifices and regulator match your fuel before doing any work on the burner. A wrong orifice gives a weak or noisy flame.
