Viking VGIQ5304RT2 T-Series Infrared Grill
The VGIQ5304RT2 is the second 53-inch Ultra-Premium T-Series grill with a TruSear infrared burner and a heavy-duty rotisserie on the retired list. We use the data plate to separate it from the RT1 and order the correct parts.
When the infrared zone is slow to light, weak spark or partly blocked openings are the usual causes. A rotisserie motor that overheats may be working against a jammed spit or a heavy, unbalanced roast, or its windings may be failing. For a single weak burner, we clean its ports and tube and compare its flame with the neighbors.
A rusted hood hinge makes a tidy repair that prevents a bent hood later. As always, we soap-test fittings and measure pressure with all burners lit. If a gas odor appears, shut off the supply and call the utility from outside. We confirm retired parts first, price in writing, warranty 30 days.
Either it is turning a load that is too heavy or unbalanced, or its windings are wearing out. We test current draw to see which. A grill spit should turn smoothly by hand when the motor is disconnected.
A weak spark, blocked openings or low gas flow. We test them in that order, then replace the failed part. Replacing only the failed part keeps the repair price lower.
It can seize the hood and bend it when forced. A cleaned and lubricated hinge, or a replacement, keeps the hood moving smoothly. Hinge repairs are quick and inexpensive.
