Viking VGBQ33002RE 300 Series Grill
The VGBQ33002RE is a retired 30-inch gas grill from the 300 Series, fitted with 25,000 BTU stainless steel burners and a heavy-duty rotisserie. It could be built into an enclosure or run on a stainless cart.
The rotisserie is the part that sets this model apart from many basic grills. Its motor sits near the heat and the grease, and its plug is exposed to the weather. We test the motor under a realistic load, clean the spit socket and check the cord. Gas-side checks are the usual ones: ports, igniters, venturi tubes and flame color.
We also examine the drip tray and firebox for rust, because a grill that holds water between uses corrodes from the inside. For a retired grill we confirm that parts exist before quoting. If you smell gas, shut off the supply and call the gas utility from outside. The price is written first, and our work carries a 30-day warranty.
The spit may be jammed, the load may be too heavy or the motor may be failing. We free the spit, test the motor and replace it if it cannot turn a normal load.
They are separate systems. The motor runs on electricity, so a dead rotisserie does not mean a gas problem, and vice versa. Checking the cord and outlet first often saves time.
After every few cooks. Overfull trays cause flare-ups and attract pests, and the pooling grease speeds rust in the tray. Empty it into a container, never onto the ground near the grill.
