Viking VWH48481 Wall Hood Repair
The VWH48481 is a retired 48-inch wall hood with a 24-inch depth, made to sit above a 48-inch range. With that much width, it covers a lot of burners and any griddle, and the filters are the first to show the load.
On a service call, we remove each filter and wash it, then wipe the canopy underside and the drip path. We open the housing to inspect the blower wheel and motor for grease or wobble and run each speed. The damper and the lamps get tested, and the control is cycled several times to see if it hesitates. If the wall mounting looks loose, we tighten it, as a 48-inch hood is a lot of weight on a few screws.
A written price comes first, and we back the repair with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
That depends on the design, so we count and inspect each one during the visit. Any bent or sagging filter is straightened or replaced so air cannot slip by.
Grease on the wheel or a loose mount upsets the balance. We clean the wheel, tighten the mount, and test every speed before we leave. We then run all speeds again to confirm the shaking is gone for good.
Yes. We test bulbs, sockets and the switch on their own, and repair only what has failed, leaving the blower untouched. That keeps the cost of the visit tied to the real failure and nothing else.
