Viking VWH30481 Deep Wall Hood
The VWH30481 is a retired 30-inch wall hood with a 24-inch depth. That reach puts the canopy out over the front burners of a 30-inch range, which is a good thing for capture and also a reason it shows grease sooner on the lower lip and the filters.
Our visit starts at the filters and the underside of the canopy. We wash or replace the filters, then look at the blower wheel and motor for grease and listen on each speed. The lights and the switch are tested, and we make sure the damper in the duct opens when the fan starts. Last, we check the wall mounting, because a deep hood puts more leverage on its screws.
You will get a written price before any work, and our repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A hood that reaches over the front burners catches more rising steam, provided the filters and blower are clean. We make sure both are in good shape so the depth does its job.
The wall mounting may have loosened. We check the fasteners and tighten them, which also stops rattles when the fan runs on a higher speed. A quick check of the screws costs nothing and often ends the rattle for good.
Usually yes. We test the switch under load, confirm it is the cause, and replace only that part, so you are not paying for a motor that works.
