Viking VWH3010 Low-Profile Wall Hood
The VWH3010 is a current 5 Series wall hood, 30 inches wide and only 10 inches high, with an internal 390 CFM blower, halogen lights, a heat sensor and a virtually seamless design. Its low body suits a 30-inch range under a short soffit or between tall cabinets.
Halogen lamps run hot, so bulbs and sockets are where we find the first wear. We replace failed bulbs, check the sockets for darkened contacts, and then test the heat sensor by watching whether the fan responds when the area warms. After that we clean the filters, inspect the internal blower for grease and run each speed. The damper in the duct gets a last look, because a short hood leans on a free path for air.
You see a written price before work starts, and the repair has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Halogen bulbs run hot, and a loose or darkened socket makes it worse. We replace the bulb, inspect the socket for heat damage, and repair it if needed so the new bulb lasts.
It is listed as a feature and is meant to let the hood react to rising heat. If the fan never changes speed near a hot pan, we test the sensor and its wiring.
Capture depends on width, mounting height and a clean 390 CFM blower, not only on body height. We restore the airflow the hood was built to deliver and leave the design alone.
