Viking VBCV36381 Wall Hood Insert
The VBCV36381 is a 36-inch built-in custom ventilator, intended for a custom wall hood over a 36-inch range. Kitchens that use inserts like this often have a plaster, wood or tile hood designed to match the cabinetry, with the ventilator tucked up inside.
When it stops working well, the shell can hide the reason. We begin at the filters and the underside of the insert, then move to the blower and the motor, checking for grease on the wheel and for a slow start. The switch and lights are tested next. Finally, we look at the duct leaving the shell, because a tight turn or stuck damper can limit even a healthy blower.
The price is written before we start, and a 30-day workmanship warranty backs the repair.
Usually not. We work through the filter opening and the underside. If more access is truly needed, we stop and talk with you first. Opening the shell itself is a decision for you and your builder, never a surprise.
A coated blower wheel or filters can reduce capture, as can a partly closed damper. We check all three before suggesting anything bigger. Each is quick to check, and cleaning the wheel often makes the largest difference.
The filters are. Everything inside the shell is better left to us, since the wiring and blower are close together. Wash the filters monthly, and leave the wiring and the wheel to a technician.
