Viking DWH3006 Replacement Hood Repair
The DWH3006 is a 30-inch Designer Series replacement wall hood with a ventilator. It has a low profile that was meant to fit older kitchens where cabinet space is tight, and where a smaller, traditional hood once hung.
Because it was often fitted in an existing opening and duct, we start with how the ductwork looks: size, bends and the damper. Then we pull the filters and inspect the blower and motor. Lights and controls are tested last. Older ducts sometimes limit airflow no matter how clean the hood is, so we tell you if that seems the case. We note any wiring or duct condition that could affect the next owner or a later repair.
We provide a written price before any work. A 30-day workmanship warranty covers the repair.
Yes. Long runs, tight elbows or a stuck damper all reduce airflow. We check them so you know whether the hood or the duct is the cause.
There is less room above the canopy, so we work carefully around nearby cabinets and wiring while the housing is open. Corrosion or crushed duct sections can also limit flow, so we examine the whole run.
If you can, yes. A clean start makes it easier to see what is really wrong with the blower. Careful cleaning and testing is usually the fastest route to a dependable result, and the written price covers only the steps that apply to your hood.
